Thanks guys. Appreciated.
Shag, yes indeed she did reach a fine old age. She felt that way too, more or less.
Her final passing was a bit of a mix. She'd had lung cancer for the last 2 1/2 years. However, it was not severe, and the level of pain was minor. She had been taking only Tylenol for the last few months, then very briefly, less than two weeks, was taking Methadone (which I did not know they used for that purpose), but stopped that as she felt it was unnecessary and it was more or less putting her on Mars. Doo-lally land.
The last two or three weeks were not so great though. It seems she may have had a small stroke and was not 100% there. She drifted in and out of communicative awareness. Anyway, the final moments were fairly serene, and my brother and some of Mom's closest friends were with her (and she was aware of their presence), so that was good.
Boo is my sister, not brother. And nothing to do with Boo Bradley. My sister's "real" name is Andrea. When she was wee, my dad used to call her Angey-Panjy-Poo, which I changed to Boo. And it stuck. She's a very strange and difficult person actually. My brother Chris, however, is a fine fellow, and has been really upstanding through this cancer ordeal. He was with Mom for a day or two almost every week over the last year. He also was very careful to help steer her away from all the charlatans and ghouls with their various cancer-cure scams: water cures, vitamin C, homeopathy. etc., etc.
Couch potatoes don't matter on the Web, crazy people do.
